The Doughertys | Fall Session | Prattville, AL
I love when friends become clients. I’ve gotten to know this amazing couple over the course of the last couple of years through our local church. When Karis found out I was a photographer, and I showed her some of my work, we exchanged ideas about how a session with me could look.
Karis knew she wanted images that reminded her of her and her husband’s time in Central Alabama. (They move often because of his job with the Air Force.) She scoped out several beautiful spots near their home. She has a great eye for this sort of thing. The entrance to their neighborhood was so picturesque and then just across the street was a huge field of cotton. Perfect! Cue the “Alabama snow."
Karis also came prepared with her own Christmas props that included adorable Santa hats and classic Christmas tree mugs. I felt like we timed it just right for that golden hour light to come diffusing through the trees. We ended with the sun setting behind the cotton field. A photographer’s dream! But these two would photograph beautifully anywhere, right?! Enjoy my favorites from their session.
